The St. Vincent dePaul Society of St. Dominic Savio Catholic Church in Affton, MO maintains an active ministry of getting food from various sources and delivering the food to places that provide food assistance to those in need.

We can use your help!! Monetary donations can be made by giving a check to St. Vincent dePaul Society, St. Dominic Savio Conference. The checks should be mailed to the parish office:

St. Dominic Savio Parish, 6120 Pebble Hill Drive, St. Louis, MO 63123.

If you have food to donate please call 314-330-6470 to make arrangements for deliver or pickup.

As of June 2009, we are able to pick up surplus food from nine places under the auspices of Operation Food Search. In addition there are three sources that provide food to us that are not affiliated with Operation Food Search. These include grocery stores, bakeries, and independent food brokers. Also, we benefit from St. Dominic Savio Parish and St. Dominic Savio School food collections. In addition the St. Vincent dePaul Society purchases food from time to time as needed and as funds allow.

We then provide food and related items to seven food pantries, 3 food kitchens that serve meals, and four other agencies that provide assistance to those in need.

The "yellowfoodbus" operates five days a week, being idle on Tuesdays and Sundays. It is manned by volunteers who are for the most part retired men.

Even if you don't provide assistance remember our mission in your prayers and if you see the bus going around St. Louis, city and county give us a honk and wave.
